Has anyone got any recommendations for cheapo family accomodation in France?

Do they have any equivalent of Travel Inn???:rotfl: We are never in the hotels other than to sleep so I don't see the point in paying out £100's for a service that isn't used!

If you're talking hotels then Logis De France is what you need: 2-3 star hotels, reasonably priced....you'll probably spend more on dinner & in the bar than you will on the room.

for self catering try Gites de France

GdF also do B&B (chambres d'hotes). Only done B&B once, but we had a great time.....a dozen guests & family in the famhouse kitchen for dinner .....fabulous Normandy cooking..... & copious quantities of cider (hic!); our hosts' kids even looked after & played with our one year old during dinner!
