Just before Xmas i bought myself a nice 42" Plasma :) Joy of Joys it nice whilst watching DVD's... BUT.. Watching cable on it 'GAH', Thats one nasty picture, it looked pretty good on my old 32" JVC.

Can anyone recommend a decentish scaler that'll take the S-Video out and resample it to 1024x1024 (The native res of the plasma), else 1024x768.

Now that i'm skint (Plasma+ArcamDVD+Xmas Prezzy's = No Money for ages :/) i don't have alot of cash to lob at the problem.

    Suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Steve

Is it a Fujitsu by any chance?

OK, just now you're sending S-video to it. Is this up converted from composite or downconverted from RGB or do you have a cable box with s-video out?

Also what spare, unused sockets do you have on your Plasma?

More answers to follow but the new Quadscan Plasma model probably has 1024 x 1024 mode. I'd want to see it first though.

Yup, it's a Fujitsu PDS4242 and my cable box does have an s-video out.

Spare sockets.. DVI-D and Composite and that's about it.

I have one of my PC's on the RGB HD15, which will eventuly move to the DVI, and my DVD player on the Component in of course.

Yeah I saw the link to the Quadscan any idea how much cash it is, looks like it does have a 1024x1024 option.
