Cheapest way to try out HD?

I'm thinking of getting either Freesat HD or Sky HD but I dont know how much better it is over SD. What's the cheapest way to view an HD broadcast before I dive in to one or the other?

I have Sky SD at the moment with a single lnb dish and an HD TV.

I also have an Xbox 360 and was wondering if I could download a broadcast quality sample video to play on it via a memory stick.

All suggestions welcome.
