Does anyone know where to get an Echostar AD3000IP? the cheapest I have been quoted is £220 but people keep saying they've seen them for about £100, trouble is I can't seem to find them for that price! I don't mind if it's a ex display model or anything like that.

    Matt.

Perhaps the best people to ask this question are the ones who have got one for ~ £100. :)

The AD3000 is discontinued and has been for some time. Therefore it is only available secondhand. I use an AD3000 and am very pleased with its performance.

Echostar have replaced the AD3000 with the AD-3600 IP Viaccess.

I too have owned a 3000IP for the past 4 years+. I've had No problems except once a satelite dissapeared from my list - had to reset it up, but have read many reports of this as a common problem in that they suffer from memory loss - channels, satelites dissapear. Some so bad - had to be sent off (authorised dealer) to be repaired at about £80-£100 !!!

I recently bought (year ago) my dad the 3000IP-VA for £200 on Ebay - it did come with H/D motor+stand+lots of cable - for a 1.6M dish. This too is working fine normally, but on about 3 occasions 2 satelites have lost their positions and had to just set their positions up again (very simple procedure - once you make a note of the satelite postions).

Oh yeh, forgot to ask, but why choose the Echostar ? Apparently the Technosat is another good receiver/positioner - for the money.
