Yeah, thats about as cheap as they come, unless you strike luck on ebay, which is rare for x-files boxsets these days.

    Are you sure about that?
Just had a look at their site and they have either the R1 or Australian (dual coded R2 & R4) DVDs which appear to be the digipack versions.

    Can anyone confirm this?

damn those australian ones are tempting, i'd much prefer to have all 9 seasons in digipak than m-lock. don't really think i should spend £170.91 right now though..

Hi mate, do you know where I can buy (apart from ebay etc) all the seasons in Digipack?

Oh, and another thing - the X Files were often around £70 online and in high street shops and suddenly with a new type of packaging, their price (for what I believe is the same content) fell to £20 ish. How did that massive price decrease come about? Were the original ones laced with gold pressed latinum?!

    Cheers.

the £18.99 australian ones are in digipaks :)

i think the recent price drop in boxsets has come about because they finally realised it's better to sell a million items at £20 than a few thousand at £70 ;)

And I aint complaining! Could be be cheaper though ;)
The best place to get the old style sets would be small highstreet shops. I think Gamestation in Newcastle had some good condition 2nd hand ones for around the same price of the new ones.

Thanks guys. What is it about the digipacks that people tend to 'prefer' over the m-locks or whatever they're called?

Secondly, is the content the same in the newer releases?

    Cheers.

The content are the same, but I think that the m-lock or what they are called is more like a cheaper solution.
Though some people prefer digipacks or the best look on the dvd edition I would not hesitate to buy R2Australia since the content are the same.
It is a great deal and from axelmusic you get super service, nice pagacking and no trouble with customs.
    I would go for it..!

I expect fox will do the usual BOGOF offer with the XFiles seasons at some point just like with the Simpsons and Buffy - so heres waiting for £15 per set

I much prefer the new m-lock packaging, much smaller and neater though im not sold on the garish colors they've used to differentiate the sets. I bought seasons 1 - 8 from Aus land and the sets are all over the place!, half of them are fold out style while the other half are amarays. I think the ones in amarays are worst of all, they come in clear 2discers but the plastic sheet that holds the paper in is all jaffed up - all nasty and crinkly like which makes it a bloody mess. My season 8 was also totally nacked (didn't buy from Axel so don't worry) the amarays had literally fallen to bits. As soon as they hit £15, which they will with such a low rrp, i'm buying them all again. Still works out cheaper than the old price for the sets, I remember when season 1 first came out it was £89.99, how harsh is that!.

I wish whoever makes Stargate would stop being lazy arses and packaging the individually sold amarays in a cardboard sleeve for the full season sets!, you should see the amount of space these buggers take up with like 5 or 6 amarays in one season set, looks like they are gonna do the exact same with Atlantis too.

Well, it would be nice to think Fox will do BOGOF on 'X Files' seasons - dilemma as to whether you wait for that possibility or bite the bullet and just buy them now and be done with it.

I've already got Seasons 1 & 2 in the M-Lock packaging, with Season 3 on it's way. I expect to be buying season 4 soon too, I would wait for a BOGOF offer for the rest of the seasons though!

Muck prefer the M-Lock style too, takes up less space and the digipacks are bit of a chore to handle, endlessly unfolding!

Well, I hope they do some offers, soon - getting withdrawal symptoms and I cannot stand watching it on FX289 because of the MFing adverts - never used to have this trouble when they were shown on the BBCs!

Where are you buying yours from 'kwebbotaurus'?

I wan't to lift this one up.

Going to buy season 4 and I think the cheapest place is www.dvdcrave.com
I've ordered the first 3 season from them.

The price for season 4 part 1 is 15€ so the complete season 4 is 30€ something like £19.90 with the delivery. Digipak is also available but it's rather expensive (£31).

This is the cheapest place, right?
