    Hi,

On the verge of paying £2500 for a Panny PWD5 from Nexnix.co.uk

Before I do that, anyone know a cheaper price? Comparable model, 2nd Hand, ex-demo etc considered.

Im amazed there isnt anyone at all selling their Plasmas here. Id rather pick one up cheaper than £2500 :(

£2500 Hitachi 42PMA400 screen only or the £2995 C42PD3000 all in TV.

As Im out side the Plasma "scene", I would consider spending £210 on a second hand stand a tad excessive. Ive seen it new for less than £20 more as well. But I guess Im "cheap" that way. :p

I like the idea of having ALIS on the Hitachi 42PMA400, but I read here that screen isnt great for Sky? Presumably that price is from NexNix as well?

Fair enough. It was £290 new only 10 weeks ago, and hasn't moved, so it's not like it's been thrown around the garden. I prefer the term nearly-new. :p

Great deal on the PW5, take it and run before they change their mind. The Hitachi crowd here are extremely good at beating their own drum, Nexnix has probably got both and will demo them together for you. If you want progressive scan, there's no choice. Otherwise, it's your money.

LOL, Maw just won't accept that a lot of people prefer the hitachi over a panny or pioneer. Maybe someone wearing a hitachi mask scared him when he was a kid :)

I have been looking around at Plasmas for a while now, and I must admit after the usual rounds of the currys/dixons/comet crappy demo amplified signal.....I finally saw the light, and it said Hitachi.......LOL
seriously though, I looked at many screens from the best to even Techwood! the taste of soap really is disgusting! LOL

The only screen I have seen that comes close to my CRT (13 year old 37" Mitsubishi) is the Hitachi PMA400, it is actaully sharp compared to other plasma screens, and one I could live with, so plans are afoot!

Yes, yes I am sure others in here have seen better of course, but I havent! <BG>

    Best regards David

If you want the Hitachi 42PD3000, try Empire Direct - I just noticed the special sale price of £2600 including delivery. I am so tempted.

Panny 42" PA20B is available for £2995 from JL (well one member got one from them for that!)
Now thats one hell of a plasma I guess with 5 year warranty!
Otherwise Panny PW6 commercial screens (black Bezel) are around £2.7k mark.
If the PW5 suits your coneections then go for it!

Well as a Very Happy PMA400E owner I'd recommend that :) You can get in for about £2400 now, utter bargain. Let the picture quality speak for it's self not whether it is progressive or not.
