Does anyone know what's the cheapest 1080p HDTV is, i've looked at sharps LC37XD1E for 1160 which is full HD but i'm sure you can get a 40" Full HD at that price.

I was wondering something similar... but as Sky HD would be my main sourceor programming, I was wondering if there were reasonably priced 1080i sets available?

I know at *normal* viewing distances it's supposedly indistinguishable (SP?) from 720p, but I'd like the option to sit a bit closer than normal to see extra detail on certain movies (errmm... not *those* kinda movies LOL I'm thinking more along the lines of the Star Wars movies :) )

Something tells me that by this time next year 720p panels will have gone the way of the Dodo, as the term 'True HD' seems to be getting more common nowadays :nono:

Anyone have any thoughts on a good 37" - 40" LCD panel with a native 1080 resolution?

Cheers,
John
