My son just picked up a Sony STR-DE375 and a Cyberhome DVD player for just over £200, though the amp only has 6channel input for D/D the DVD player has D/D decoder onboard, is also DTS compatable.

DVD plays DVD, CD, SVCD, CD-RW, CD-R and MP3's, it's multiregion.

He picked up a satellite speaker package (5xsats + sub) £50, the weak link was the sub but has now changed that for a KEF PSW1000, so for just over £300 he has a system that has not broken the bank and has remarkable picture/sound quality to.

Alos try and get to listen to the cheaper stuff by Sony, Yamaha and Denon if it's in your price range.

can't give you exact models because I've lost touch a bit with what's around. Make sure you get somewhere that will let you have a good listen to whatever you want.

Just got the Denon 1602 (for my in-laws). A great amp at a great price. Richer sounds price matched it for £230 then as it was the last one knocked another £10 off.

Sorry to be a pain M8, but I thought the 375 could'nt do DTS. Is'nt that why they brought out the 475? ;)

    Marv,

I just picked one of these up myself - can't seem to get it to run as Dolby Digital - just Dolby Pro-Logic...? Are you getting the same thing?

Mine works fine with DD5.1.When playing a DD5.1 DvD Press the " Sorce Direct " buton, it should then change to DD5.1 .Also you are on Video 2 function on the amp arnt you?

If it still dont work e-mail me.
