The supermarkets often do some cracking deals, particularly safeway!

Dont want to worry you (well, actually, I supose I do), but my Dad bought a Beko 28" from Tesco and it is the biggest pile of crap I have ever seen. Picture is rubbish and the sound is virtually unlistenable - sounds like everything is coming through a pipe. Not me being picky it really is rubbish, my Mum is giving him constant grief about it. I would strongly reccomend an audition before parting with readies :(

    Honest, its that bad.

    Nick,

    Thanks for info,

    of course i have concerns.
but he was on a tight budget and wanted a widescreen.
i said that a 28 would be too small.

i will take a good look at the product when it arrives.

fortuneately hes buying from an established dealer
so any returns will be no problem.

This bottom of the market product isnt going to
    have earth shattering performance.

but if its crap then it will have to go back.

I fully appreciate "you pays your money and you takes your choice".

But in this instance, it is virtually unlistenable, not in a "sniff, sniff - How cheap and nasty, my one's bigger than your one" sort of way, more in a "What did he say?"

Hopefully the 32" may be different. Let me know if it is, as I am still debating whether to buy a stop-gap el-cheapo tv now and see what the price of plasmas are like in 12 months, or, bite the bullet now and buy something classy but potentially obsolete in the near future!
