I've been reading around and it seem unclear but could a cheap graphics card with a version 1.2 display port and a display port to HDMI connector cable work as a 4k 60 hz HTPC. The cheapest dedicated HDMI 2.0 4k ready card is £150, the GTX 960, this will be far from silent though.

I know there isnt much 4k content to play on a media center right now but I have a 4k TV and I want to give it a go. My plan is to go straight into my TV from me HTPC and then drop the audio back into my receiever amp via the ARC channel.
