Just had Sky+ installed and I want to connect it to my Marantz SR4200 receiver. The Sky+ box has TOSLINK out for DD. Letropacks do a cable for £11. Will this be OK, or should I pay £30 for a Qunex or IXOS one? Will there be much difference between the cheaper and more expensive ones?

I am no expert but the cables I got from Lektropacks for both my SKY+ and DVD player are working great. I am not prepared to pay a huge premium price on high end cables/interconnects unless I was spending thousands on hardware and even then I would still wonder if I would be able to tell the difference:)

£11 is at the upper end of what you should pay for a Toslink.
My Skyplus+ is connected by a super-duper Ixos, it sounds exactly the same as the £5 Tandy predecessor.

Argos do a pretty decent 2m optical cable..

Hitachi £12.99 item number 534/1221. It even comes with a minidisc adapter, but i use this for my sky+ and its fine :)

Do a search on Ebay for Toslink - there is a guy called Andy Smith who does decent toslinks in varying lengths.

    I bought a 4 meter one off him for £8.99 incl P&P.
