Can you get DVD players for under £40? Maybe you should try going for a second hand player if this is your maximum budget?

 Amazing. The cheapest I've seen is around £70 (although I don't really spend much time looking at the AV stuff in my supermarket).

In the end i got a sva d-2818 from amazon £39 with free shipping.Nice looking player plays everything, even came with a scart lead.

I was also on the look out for a cheap dvd/tv combo for the other kids bedroom but decided on a tv and dvd.Just sent off for another dvd player from amazon this time a prism with 8 films £39,can't be bad for the price.

Soon have a dvd player in every room:laugh:
