Hi, never had a portable mp3 player before because i've never needed it but now im looking for something i can use on the train and more importantly plug into my hifi so that i dont need to carry my music around.

Im looking for the most value for money, not a humongous capacity(over 1gb should do)

most importantly it should somehow(and i dont know if this is possible) be able to be plugged into my hifi so i can listen through its speakers( im assuming through the headphone jack)

any help would be appreciated. (a u3 device would be a plus)

just to add, has anybody had any experience with the play.com lite v3 1gb player? seems a bargain at £25

does anyone know if there is an adapter or something wherby i can play this through the mini hifi

Don't know anything about that particular MP3 player, but if your stereo has left and right phono jacks (the red and white ones) then you can get yourself a head phone to L/R phono cable pretty cheap in somewhere like Maplins.
