    Hi there,

I'm looking to upgrade from an old 32 bit office PC to 64 bit to use more RAM.

Looking for a super cheap (i.e. less than £50) MB, CPU (preferably quad core) and at least 4GB of RAM combo.

Not worried on brand of board or CPU, just that it is cheap and will run 64 bit.

I have a AM3 motherboard so would consider AMD AM3 CPU with RAM.

    Thanks,

    Hugh

You wont get a quad core 1155 bundle on the intel side for £50. You would be better just looking for an Am3 quad with your budget, as you already have a board, or sell your mobo and put the funds into your budget. Unless you are using any software that utilises more than one core you will be fine with a dual core.

    Thanks Gary.

Does anyone have an AM3 quad core knocking around? I will be using this machine for light Photoshop and Lightroom duties as well as having many internet tabs open concurrently so more RAM and CPU would be good.

    Thanks,

    Hugh
