Thanks for the link. I'm looking for dvd-r for use on my new HS2. Is this a good place to buy them? They seem very reasonable. Does the quality vary greatly between discs?

    Thanks
    Tracey

    Hi There

I have purchased from these people before without any problems
    However you could also try

    www.bigpockets.co.uk
    www.blankdiscshop.co.uk

I have used them both and they are also good for supply of reliable cheap DVD-R discs

    Regards

    Jim

I finally got the RAM out of the caddie and recorded on it but get

    DISC ERROR...

When trying to load it now.

See "JVC DR-MS1SLB problem!! " thread.

Any one had any luck with the Datasafe media?

It will play on Panasonic DVD players but not others.

What do you mean by multi format DVD player?

It will play on official dvd multi drives as these support DVD-R, DVD-RW and DVD-RAM. So called "super multi" drives like the LG 4040 also support DVD+R and DVD+RW. Dual format drives support DVD+ and DVD-, but not DVD-RAM.

So have you really got a "multi" drive?

Why do you want to take it out of the caddie? The ideal of the caddie is to offer greater protection of the disc so it increases its longevity. They are easy to remove, but I have never felt the need to do so.

Have ordered 3 double sided RAM discs from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk and they work perfectly in my E50. No difference in performance from the Panasonic ones - just a lot cheaper.

Work fine on a Panasonic pc drive as well.

    KL

Do any machines take RAM discs with caddies, mine certainly doesn't. I suppose the Panasonic may.

    see http://www.optodisc.com/product.html

for details on how to remove.

Compatible Panasonic DVD Players will only accept RAM without the caddy.... Not sure about PC DVD Drives though....
