Thinking of going totally flatscreen and replacing third television with an LCD.

It's for the kitchen, so splash-proof might be nice; but what's the cheapest LCD television (screen with built in speakers and RF input) that money can buy? Is it one of those DabsValue ones, or are there even better bargains out there.

Furthermore, is it even cheaper to make your own; considering cheapest LCD monitors at dabs are £100 (and I get a nice discount too).

Is there an LCD as cheap as that at Dabs???

AVER Tv tuner from Nexnix :£95+VAT
Active cheap and nasty active speakers: £20??

£232 in total. You can get the DABS value 15" LCD with TV and integral speakers for that.

Yes, but just noticed that it's a 5" screen. :clown: Cheapest 15" is £169.99 inc VAT [Quicklinx 2PZ1WS]. D'oh!

The DabsValue [Quicklinx 2CLQWS] appears to be similar but with TV tuner and remote control, and built in speakers for another £58.

    Wonder if it's splash proof?

A quick Google search turned up this.

Its an American site, but I'm sure there are UK equivalents.

This month's T3 has a suppliment with the Philips 150MT2 LCD on the back page, being touted as a kitchen LCD. At £480 it may not be as cheap and nasty as you want, but it looks like it is meant to be in a kitchen.
