Just browsing the FS forum came across what appears to be a very cheap AE-100.

    Less than £1K & available here .

Thought someone may be interested ;)

OK, blatant advertisement I know but mods may forgive me. If this post/thread is deleted I'll understand.

How come it's less than £1k when your ad says £1000 plus £20 delivery. Just

    Hi,

    Well originally offered @ £1000 + del. Now with free delivery + open 2 offers - hence < £1000.

    You interested?

    Hi Tim,

Yep, AE-300/HS-10, although I'm concerned about the "vertical motion artifacts" being talked about @ avs on the AE-300.

The HS-10 is the preferred option, but ONLY if it will do 1:1 pixel mapping via the DVI port. I play games on my AE-100 regularly, so all that extra resolution would be nice.

No sold either on Panasonic's "smoth screen technology". Surely the type of "fill" it uses must reduce definition

Obviously now having used an AE-100 for >800 hrs, I'm more critical, & given as the HTPC is my only source I'd like more :D

    Will this tweaking ever end?????????????

& I blame YOU, as the first here with an AE-100 - you started me on this never ending quest for PQ. Kramer, what a joke - I should rename myself Frodo :p

Interested in an AE-100 for exxxxxtra widescreen viewing Tim;)

Just the one is enough for me :)
So I bet you want less screen door and better contrast :)
If you want to go better than the AE100 via pc, maybe you should look at a CRT projector, yes they are huge but do offer a far superior image. Just think, no pixels

    Cya Frodo ;)

    p.s Whose Frodo?

Frodo Baggins? Heir of Bilbo Baggins, and hero of the Lord of the Rings. Renowned for bearing the One Ring to the land of Mordor, and bringing it to the Cracks of Doom.

In essence, an individual on a quest ;)

    Kramer's (Frodo's ) quest:

Seek out a digital PJ (CRTs too big & too expensive) with no screendoor, high resolution, high contrast ratio, excellent black levels/shadow detail, no DLP rainbowing, that's virtually silent in operation & with bulb life of years, not hours. & oh yes, inexpensive.

Frodo's epic quest doesn't look too daunting now does it :D
