The 3802 has Dolby Prologic II, a MUST, plus variable crossover, important if you have small speakers...

    So forget the 3801

    Forget the 3801.

The price of the 3802 is different wherever you go, beware of imports and warranties , stick with a dealer who is close to you if you can .

Check out Denon's web site for spec's

The crossover will separate frequencies, standard is above 80 hz to the speakers you define as small, below that to the subwoofer.

If your speakers won´t play well below 120 hz, for instance the KEF eggs, you need to be able to set a diferent crossover frequency in the receiver.
