Pan EX85. There are occasions where I would like to be able to create chapters in a recorded body of material. An example would be 'Xmas 05' in a sequence of family get-togethers. So that when the the dvd is inserted, a list of 'chapters' is displayed, a viewer can select a particular chapter instead of having to wade through all the material.

The type of chaptering and degree of control you have over it is determined by the way you copy to disk and the type of disk you use.

If you high speed copy from HDD to DVD, all and any chapters you have made go with the copy - as it is pure straight copying.

In real time copying, all marked chapters are lost and replaced by auto chapter marks every 5 to 8 minutes depending on disk type.

With RAM disks, you can edit and add chapters at will.

But the problem is that you would never get to actually 'See' the chapters presented. A list of chapters is not created.

It is not multi-chapters you require , but multi titles.

To get what you want, you would have to divide the material up into separate titles.
That way, each title would be displayed as a thumbnail when you insert the disk.
If desired those titles can be further subdivided into chapters.
