    Hi,

I know that the new 2011 re-working of THUNDERCATS has been on one of the kids channels on cable/satellite for a few months now, but Channel 5 have bought the terrestrial rights to it, and will start airing it over the Christmas fortnight.

Starts on Sunday 18th December at 11:05am, and will then continue most days over the fortnight, at roughly the same time, with all 13 Season 1 episodes airing. Full details shown below:

    Sunday 18th December 10.05am - 11.05am (Episodes 1 and 2)

    Tuesday 20th December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Wednesday 21st December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Thursday 22nd December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Friday 23rd December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Saturday 24th December 10.20am - 10.55am

    Monday 26th December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Tuesday 27th December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Wednesday 28th December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Thursday 29th December 10.00am - 10.35am

    Friday 30th December 10.00am - 10.35am

The final episode, will probably air on Saturday 31st Dece, ber or Sunday 1st January. Full episode guide and plot descriptions/spoilers can be found on the Epguides.com website. :)

The first season has just ended in the US. I managed to watch the all, it's a little different than I remembered it as a kid. Still excellent though. I'll be watching it again on Channel 5.

Just saw a little bit of this for the first time and it was a instant hate, Thundercats helping cute little robot teddy bears, manga type drawings and motion. Even the foe some ogre type un dead was drawn infant toddler friendly.
Seemed aimed more at people who enjoy Teletubbies than kidaults.

    Hi,

I have to agree with Garrett on this one: the re-imagining is dire in every, single solitary aspect! :( No decent music to sing along too, or hum with. Fairly standard Japanese-style (well, it was animated in Korea, but you know what I mean) animation, from a studio - Studio 4 Degrees C - who should and have done better. Terrible, ham-fisted dialogue, and contrite plots that just do not work at all. Awful, awful stuff. :thumbsdow

The original 1980's version was superior in every aspect. :( I even miss the original Snarf, who at least had some point to being included - nurse-maid to Lion-O.

Not seen the new version, but they did that in the first ever season (episode 3, "Berbils")

The art quality/animation goes quite a bit down in quality as it progresses. Don't worry about Berbils, there's quite a few more serious episodes. Though, it's not like the Berbils episode was really kiddy; they were being used for slaves and all.

I loved the original but after being bought the DVD box set a few years back it was.... Rubbish. The only good thing was the theme tune! Every episode had a damn moral at the end.

However the new series is edgy and up to date. (shame no music) its got a quality to it that keeps me coming back. The first 2 episodes where a real good opener to tell you the tale of the cats etc.

To all you lovers of the original you must have your kiddie tinted rose glasses on.

So as iv rambled enough I was wondering I went away last thus 29th dec had sky plus ready however I get back and it's only recorded fri 30th.... No more?? So was wondering if that's it?

I don't like this new one either. I was also a fan of the original years ago but I wouldn't want to watch it again but some 80's stuff is just as good now as I watched it. I enjoyed re-watching Dungeons and Dragons again.

The original was great - when I was 6 years old. Looking back on it with the DVDs, I wouldn't say it was bad, but it's certainly showing its age. You couldn't (or wouldn't) make a cartoon like that now, and I like it more for the nostalgia factor.

I like the new one. I think it looks good and I like the direction they have taken it. So what if the dialogue and plots are simplistic - was the original really Shakespeare?

The show is aimed at a pre-teen audience. Let them enjoy it (if that's their thing).
