My son is at University. His computer crashed within 1 week,he couldn't even enter safe mode.I talked him through re-formatting his hard drive and re-installing windows xp and he now has a functioning pc once again. He lost all his music.I have an 80gb usb hard drive which I bought to backup music/photos etc after a similar episode a year ago.I have bought him an identical unit with the intention of loading my 40+gb of music and sending it to him,the remainder of the drive could be used as a backup facility. When my hard drive was delivered it had a single partition, this one has beeen sent with two 37gb ntfs partitions on it.,which is not ideal for me.I've asked xp to reformat the drive but it refuses to do so.Can anyone advise me please.TIA.
Regards
Ian
