Is it possible to download and replace your existing players operating system. Ive got a i-river 340, which is great, yet for some reason you can only view a max of 9999 files/tracks on the player. Hook it up to a pc and you can view over and the 9999 max. Was thinking maybe with a new operating system, you should be able to view everything?

People have reverse engineered players in several ways. I believe some people actually got Linux running on the iPod.

That said, sadly it's highly unlikely that someone'll have cooked up some better firmware for that exact player.
