    Hi

Well thanks for everyone who has advised me on the 7250i for starters. And becuase virgin don't support mms/gprs i finally chose upon orange. Then finally yesterday (your in for a long story) i was about to buy it off their site, they ahd placed the Sony Ericson T610 for £169.99 (value or what) so i looked at the sony site and the nokia site and compared the phones.

And the T610 just seems 10 times better with its 65000 colour screen and 32 note polyphonic ringtone capability (and bluetooth)

However, has any one had any problems with a this phone and what is it like for texting, especially predictive text as nokias make it so easy?

    Any help much appreciated, thanks!

    I have a T610 and wasn't impressed when i saw my mates 7250i.
His screen is a fair bit smaller and is only 4k colours.
The T610, although not brilliant is far superior in quality to the Nokias. Don't buy either of these phones is the camera feature is the most important.

The T610 has bluetooth support and WAP works really well on it. It supports Java at a good speed (with latest firmware) and also supports mophun games. I have VRally 3!

Texting is faster on Nokia phones but is a fair speed on my T610.

I would reccomend the T610 over the Nokia 7250i anyday of the week.

The T630 has just been released. Maybe check that one out first.

There is also a Z600, identical to the T610 but in a clamshell design.

    Hope this helps somehwhat,

    \\Chris

I have a p900 and my wife has the t610, the screen on the t610 is rubbish,

photos are all grainy and blocky and it is very poor against many other screens i've seen.

Unless anoyone thinks there is some setting i may be missing then i don't rate it.

Right thanks for putting me off it. I know the screen isn't fantastic but its the T610 or the 7250i, and the T610 does have the better and bigger screen?

Anybody know how to unlock a T610 onto all networks?

    Why whats wrong with it?

    Ok here we go:

I originally wanted a nokia 7250i 160 quid of orange site
then they added T610 which is betta (screen polyphonic tones) so i thought that for £170 which is my upper budget!

I need a phone that is small, has a decent screena and polyphonic ringtone capability of at least 16 notes.

Any suggestions (no flip phones) whats wrong with sony T610?

I can unlock T610 to all networks. I can also upgrade the firmware on it to the latest version.

Therefore, It can definately be done.

Ok. Its not the network i'm bothered about. Its the phone, its on orange and comes with free text saver for a year. But i would like to know what the phone is like and what is so bad about it for £170 compared to the 7250i.

Also, do you use a data cable to unlock it?

    Thanks

    Ok Thanks!

Well i would say i send a minimum of 5 texts per day maybe 7 or 8 sometimes so not many. Calls i generally call landlines and probably in a week only spend 10 minutes on calls from my mobile not recieving calls. So generally i don't use it too often i just always have one with me.

With text saver it looks like i get 5 a day to any network free for a year inc £5 worth of calls. I am on virgin currently and prefer them to T-Mobile and 02 as they are cheaper and don't BUG me. They are also very helpful. The only reason i am changing is becuase they don't support MMS. They are looking to so in the future i would want to unlock teh phone and maybe go back to virgin?

So spending more than £170 on a phone i don't use too often doesn't really justify for me. Thanks for any help!

I got a SE T610. Sent it back to O2 a week later and got the SE Z600.

Miles better screen, louder everything, its waaaayyy better than the 610.

Why you not want a clamshell phone? Those candybars are so old fashioned now! :)
