Changing hard drive in older Amstrad HD box?

Im seriously thinking of swapping the HDD in my Amstrad box for a 1TB version as my sky box is now out of warranty, ive seen this on scan's deal for today page

Scan.co.uk: 1TB (1000 GB) Samsung Spinpoint F3 Hard Drive - HDD - HD103SJ

Does anyone know if this HDD would work ok?

Also, how much (roughly) recording space would the increase be? i.e. double what i have now? i think the standard one is 320GB, so with anytime taking a chunk out of the 1TB drive how much more realistic recording space would i have?

Hope someone can help.............Matt

I don't have any experience of the older Amstrad but you will need to use Copy+ to prepare the drive before putting it in the box.

As to recording space, you will have a bit over 4.5 time what you have now, around 860GB free.
