Changing color wheel in Sagem htd501

As per a previous post I got my boyfriend to replace my color wheel. He used the samsung compatible one. Yet the television is still not working. When using this one is it only the ribbon that gets connected? As when the Samsung one arrived it had two cables coming from it.

Any help here would be hugely appreciated as I have the tv in bits in lounge and if not fixed by tomorrow it will go into the skip.
