Changinf Center Speaker from Boston Acoustics Soundware unit

Currently have a Boston Acoustics Soundware XS5.1SE system attached to an Onkyo TX-SR308 and PS3.

I thinking of upgrading the centre speaker as I feel this needs a bit more "warmth" & more depth.

Must be black/wood, max hight/width/depth - 4"/12"/6"

Is this advisable?
Worth doing?
Any particular brand, speaker you can recommend?

The centre speaker should ideally be identical to the fronts. As this is normally not possible due to size constraints, manufacturers make centre speakers using identical drivers etc. but alter the speaker box shape so that the drivers are horizontal rather than vertical and the speaker can fit in racks and so on. The centre speaker should therefore be from the same range, or at the very least the same manufacturer as the fronts to ensure a tonal match. Perhaps, you should consider replacing all three front speakers i.e. FL, FR and CTR.
