changed the c.d pick up,not working?

does anybody no how to set up a c.d players c.d pick up. its a KSS210A . i thought it would just be a straight swap ! but the new one doses not work .do they have to be set up ? is there a shorting wire on the laser that has to be removed ? any help thanks

 

Graham when I replaced the assembly in my marantz it was a straight swap. All I had to do was resolder the wires.

If you have no luck here for some help, I'd do a search on Google under CD repair(s).....Electronic repairs, Repairing a cd player ect....Even try under your players make and model.

I have seen some sites on repairs so they are out there. Good luck
