Question change to buy a new sub by BK, any good this one?

That’s why I can’t wait to get the AVR-X3700 with this better MultEQ XT32, for now I have no choice until I’m a bit more flush with cash ☹️

Guys

got a chance to get a Denon AVR-X4500H, it’s from 2018... it’s going for an amazing price!

or should I save up and get the Denon AVR-X3700 or slightly older X3600?

Both of those are sold out if you looking them at Peter Tyson! They can´t be added to cart = sold out.

I wouldn´t hurry as the price will drop closer to christmas 200-300£ like it did with the X3600H. Pricespy price history shows 999£ when new and 25.12 it cost 719£!

4500 has two line display, auro3d, al32

3600 tested well, better than the 3700.
3700 has hdmi 2.1 and newer mode on pre amp mode. But none have full pre amp mode until you go for 8500

Power differences between them are.so negligible not even worth noting

3600 better than a 3700? Huh?😳

Is the 4500 a good one though?
a massive upgrade on my AVR-X2200 🤣

I can get a 3700 for £765 brand new anyway, but If I can find a 3600 or 4500 going a lot cheaper, I’ll easily get £230 - £280 for my 2200 I reckon

3700 showed higher noise in the system, compared to 3600. Poorer overall results. Probably due to the higher bandwidth hdmi video section.

wow, how odd that the older 3600 model is better sonically... might have to look out for one of them aswell

The expert review of the 3600 here wow!

4500 is a great avr if you can get it at a good price. How much are you talking?

£499 I thought it was going for, I then get an email from the company saying it’s an error on their website, just my luck!! 😤🤬 Oh well☹️ Back to square one trying to find a 3600 3700 or 4500 somewhere else

Any other make of AVR other than the Denons that are around the same prices but better sonically?

The Denon tick a lot of boxes and offer good value for the money. Other options would be Marantz, Pioneer, Onkyo, Yamaha. You have to look at the key requirements for you. Room correction etc.

Right... the QA3070S has just been picked up... hoorah! My room is sooooooo empty 🤦‍♂️🤣
Gonna move my TV unit about 10 inches to the right so new sub will fit.. haven’t ruled out putting it on the right hand side, but don’t want it to rattle my CD storage units😳🤔

I’ve changed the settings on my Denon to these while I wait 7 days for BK to send my XXLS400 FF, these settings correct?

and yeah definitely! My next AVR must allow me to connect a stereo amp to it, I want to run the Bronze 500’s from it, is that the norm when adding an amp? Then the new Denon or whatever I get can run everything else? Will be great to listen to my Music CD’s using the stereo amp for a nicer sound over the AVR... I’m just uncertain how to set all that up if someone can send me a tutorial or someat, knowing me I’ll blow everything up🤦‍♂️🙄🤣

finally getting there with it all, thankyou guys 😊👍🏻

He's hinted at getting a stereo integrated, so some features would be useful. That's if can get sub working for stereo and av without double bass effect

whats double bass effect? I’m worried now 😱

Have a look at REW and use the room sim to check sub placement. It gives a good indication of what you can expect.
I think the amp you buy will need HT pass-through, I think it’s called. Someone more knowledgeable will confirm though

Have you a link to REW?

I'd get a x3600h and a minidsp. Should be better than xt32 for the sub

I really don’t want to get into all that DSP stuff, I just would rather use the XT32 Audyssey calibration on the AVR, my rooms only 15ft 3” wide by 12ft 3” deep...

It's really easy. Front left and right pre-outs from a receiver into the dedicated direct line in RCA on the amp. The front left and right speakers are then wired into the stereo amp. When using the stereo amp for film and TV you will have to select 'Direct' (that's on a Rega Elicit-R as an example). That's it. Volume is then controlled by the receiver. On initial set up all you have to do is EQ the stereo amp into the system.

There are some stereo amps out there that do make it a little bit harder to use but a Rega Elicit is simplicity itself. My Denon and Rega work very well together. Stereo music is much improved as all music sources are connected just to the stereo amp.

So the basic. For film and TV both receiver and stereo amp are fired up. The stereo amp uses the 'Direct' HT circuit. For music just the stereo amp is fired up and used in a normal way.
