I use the B&W MT30 speaker package.
Crossed at 100 HZ and set to small.

After experimentation changed crossover to 80.
But biggest improvement has come by lowering the level of the sub on the sub itself and increasing the sub level on the amp.
Bass moments have much more kick and impact.

My little discovery this weekend - dull as it is.

I might give that a blast with mine. Nothing ventured nothing gained, and all that!

the phase aswell I find made a huge difference, though it may not work with your smaller speakers, I have 2 Jamo floor standing speakers which by themselves are rather boomy, and with the sub phase at 0, it just adds to the boom, and has a fantasticly powerfull peak at around 50hz, but very little anywhere else.

With the phase set to 180, the sub seems to cancel out alot of the boom from the speakers, but then is able to extend down to much lower freqs, which hugely balanced out the sound. I have my crossover set to 80hz.
