Would I see a major difference in purchasing a 2910 and using hdmi connection rather than component on my PJ??
I know that in theory there is a difference but I would like to know if anyone has a similar setup.
To my knowlegde replacing my 2900 with the 2910 would be a step down. Would I loose out on CD and SACD performance with the 2910? Replacing it with the 3910 would be the same. Right?

Any info would be helpful.

I would not bother with this change. The 2900 is superb through component. HDMI does not automatically give you a better picture. The 2900 replacemnet is the 3910 but I would still not swap. Stick with the 2900 until true Hi-def players come out.
