A friend of mine has fallen in love with my TH42PWD7 but cannot afford to buy a PWD8 - What does the 8-series have over the 7 and how much is the difference worth ?

    Regards

    HD compatible.

If he needs a stand and an input board the PW8 only costs about £60 more by the time you have got it up and running.

Or are you saying that you can sell him your pw7 and get the pw8?

The offer in the offers section is around £1200ish for the PW8 with stand/bracket, s-video/composite and delivery. You can also input component over the vga socket on the 8 series.
If you can get £900 for the 7 series then it is probably worth doing, if it is going to cost you more than £300 I would just get a £150 hdmi-vga converter if/when you need one.

    Thanks gizlaroc,

I didn't know you could still get the 7 anymore.

Is the 8 worth it though - is there a review of the differences somewhere ?

Richer Sounds are doing the screen for £999, however you need a stand (£150) and probably an input board of some sort? (£120)

Not really any differences on the 8, from what I have seen the scart input is sharper, and it will accept 720 and 1080 at 50hz on the HDMI input, where as the 7 series will not.
