As a gamer I'm very very excited by HDMI 2.1 and have been holding off on buying a TV for it.
I'm used to gaming on an Asus PG279Q so I know the benefits of VRR (GSync) and high refresh rate gaming. Now that Nvidia is supporting VRR over HDMI I finally can have the perfect combination.

I just hope it wont be too long until we see HDMI 2.1 ports on GPU's.

      4K HDR 4:4:4 + 120Hz + VRR + ALLM + eARC is the fantastic combination for gaming.
LG's C9 is looking like an amazing choice. Glad I waited for it.

It would be good to know how many of the features can be enabled under 2.0b. ALLM made a splash last continuing this year, can the manufacturers add VRR too or so we have to wait for 2.1 to cover all (does 2.0b not enough headroom for all features, so you can have eArc or VRR or ALLM rather than all)?

I've been waiting since the LG C7 came out. The C9's finally nail everything I've been wishing for.

Seeing as Freesync works over HDMI 2.0 I see no reason why it couldn't be supported.

eARC requires extra bandwidth but if all you're using it for is audio then HDMI 2.0 is plenty. VRR and ALLM do not require extra bandwidth (Freesync works over HDMI 2.0).
But for me I'm going all in on HDMI 2.1, I hope we see some GPU's with HDMI 2.1 support this year.
