CES 2020: Hisense focuses on its TV news
Google Translate

In 2020, a whole QLED range arrives on the French market, with the usual Hisense approach: making premium affordable. From 50 '' to 65 '', the U8QF and U7QF series are ultra-complete televisions: Full LED without edge, Local Dimming up to 180 zones, peaks of brightness of 1000 nits and integration of the latest HDR standards Dolby Vision and HDR10 + . In addition to Dolby Atmos compatibility, the U8QF series includes a JBL soundbar for more powerful sound.

Sounds like we are finally getting a proper FALD from HiSense in Europe. Not sure about this including a soundbar idea - that would be terrible!

Never trust Hisense when it comes to the EU product range. Never.

The market is wide open for them to come in and eat Samsung’s lunch with Sammy likely to be into its third year running with the same core technology (trying to cover it up with “8K”). Hopefully HiSense or TCL decide they want those millions.

Hisense and TCl both are well known for their shitty EU Line Up of tvs. Better be sceptical that the CES line Up hits europe.

Konka QLED, OLED & LED TVs Announced - CES 2020

I'm not yet convinced HDMI 2.1 will appear this year. LG could again be the lone HDMI 2.1 screen provider (with some questions remaining over support for true 48 Gbps). None of the the advance press releases I have seen have mentioned HDMI 2.1 apart from the LG 8K one. Tellingly the LG 2020 soundbar press release only mentions eARC and not HDMI 2.1 (which would be needed for 48 Gbps pass-through). Would be happy to be proved wrong (a 2020 Pansonic OLED with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDMI 2.1 would be great) and not long to wait now for the answer.

Should be a no brainer on Sonys side. PS5 will support HDMI 2.1

It wouldn't make any Sense to release Sonys tv line 2020 line Up without it.

Both Xbox and PlayStation will be pushing much more data next year, so it wouldn’t make sense for manufacturers to ignore 2.1 any longer ?
Whilst most consumers are unaware of the various HDMI numbers, my next tv will have to cover all the main HDR options, as well as allowing me to get the best out of next years Xbox.

Now if Panasonic just add that teeny weeny .1 to there spec, then they may just have a new customer later this year:)

Anyone now what Dolby vision iq is?

Vizio announced at CES that all of it’s 4K 2020 models, for the US market, will have HDMI 2.1. This is a good sign that other brands will have to have it to have it to compete. We should know tomorrow at CES press briefing day. However, Sony sometimes delays details, for some but not all models, until early Feb. at a Sony press conference in NY.

Last year LG surprised everyone by going with 2.1 for 4K tvs. Other brands were blindsided and had no time to react.
