I too have this problem with Eltax Liberty setup.
I am currently balancing the centre on top of the set with no problems. I am wary of the vibrations and am therefore in the process of making a bracket to support and isolate it.
Will let you know how i get on.

I used to have my center speaker on top of tv and it was held in place by (AV man's best friend) Blu Tak. In fact it was so secure, the (now) ex g/f put pictures on top of it!!!

I don't have aproblem keeping the speaker (Eltax Liberty) up there as it has four soft rubber feet which stop any movement. My only concern is the vibration being transmitted through the set may cause damage. Any thoughts

I had this problem, I've got a fairly hefy center speaker and there's no way it would pirch on top of my 36pw9607, so I bought a portable TV bracket, one of the ones with quite a long arm, because my center is rear ported, put a few pads under the speaker to stop some vibration and mounted it on there... not too bad at all... I'd recommend under the TV, but if you cant then this seems to work quite well.

only problem is that i have a bay window behind the set - no brackets allowed.

Ah, thats gonna make life difficult... in that case, buy a projector and put the center speaker under the screen ;)

You could always dispense with the Centre speaker altogether :).

I think I'll make a small attractive stand which projects up and over from the rear to the front, about 4"above the screen. Possibly using some thin chrome bars with clear perspex top shelf. I can live with it at the moment until i can be arsed getting all 'Handy Andy'.
I will find an answer as I am impressed with the overall performance of all my kit.

    Sony kp44px2
    Yamaha DSPAX620 Amp
    Sony DVPNS700 DVD
    Eltax Liberty 5+ fronts
    Eltax Liberty centre
    Eltax Bi polar rears
    Eltax Liberty Sub
