Centre speaker

Standard Member
I have a pair of kef q500 speakers and I'm wondering if a kef 3001se centre would work with them, or should I get the q200c dedicated centre!( reluctant due to price and size)

Both will work ok.

But the Q200 will be the perfect match as it uses exactly the same drivers.
It is quite a big speaker, not as big as the Q600 which is quite enormous.

It is always best I feel to keep the front 3 speakers the same range at least.

If it is a bit expensive at the moment then maybe save a little longer

I agree with DrH, plus if it's out of budget, then just use a phantom centre which IMHO is better than a mismatched centre.

To be honest, the Q200 looks much smaller than the Q500 so I don't know if there is something bigger that will be a better match?

You should be able to set no centre on your AVR, I believe that there may be a setting which allows the phantom.

Need to have a look at your manual
