Dunno whether this is better off in here or the Amp subforum , but here goes..

Just connected up a set of speakers in another room to "B" on my Denon 2802, however when I select "B" on the amp the centre speaker from "A" is still working, should this be like this ?

If you have anything other than DIERCT or Stereo selected, yes.

The amp doesn't know that your speakers are in a different room, it just knows that it has to output to another pair of sockets on it's back.

    HTH.

    Thanks ReTrO,

I figured it was something simple, as I always listened in 5ch stereo & my pronto configures the amp that way when I select CD, I didnt think to try DIRECT.
