I've got a pair of Mission M72 speakers and I want to set up a 5.1 system in the bedroom so need to add a centre, does anyone know which centre speaker would tonally match these as I've just realised that the M72's aren't manufactured anymore. Would a Mission M3C2 work ok?

    Thanks!

Richer sounds might have some M7c's lying arround but the M3c2 is probably better anyway.

Tracey - there are plenty of places that still have old stock of the M7C2 and M7C1 speakers.

The M3 was designed as the direct replacement of the M7 and they are very similar - I had a similar issue with the rear speakers after the kids managed to kill my previous set of M7ds - missions own comments were that M7 would be best but the M3 is a very close second

Thanks for all your help. yes I saw that on ebay, I really wanted black though, although that does seem cheap and it would be an exact match, tempting!

I've got M71's and an M3C2 and they sound very nice together.

I just went a similar route to you, moved to 5.1 and considered a satellite system such as the Cantons. But in the end I rejigged a few things and went with the Mission 702e speakers and added a centre I found s/h in a hifi shop, the Mission 73c I believe. Having a matching centre makes a world of difference, wild horses etc. I was previously using a Pioneer satellite set as one of the centres, I don't know how I managed that two week period! I read a lot about matching the centre, and the importance of a good speaker, now I understand.
