The obvious choice would be the Wharfedale MFM Centre

Seriously though,Mammoth...did you expect the advice to be any different?.....the best way of matching your front speakers is to use a centre from the same range, unless size/placement issues make it impossible.

As I have had no reply from Wharfedale I was bowing down to experts as to "the next best thing" to matching the fronts with the centre!

If you'd mentioned that,I'm sure IanJ wouldn't have suggested the Wharfedale centre.....you should have a look at B&W and Mission,as both have some decent speakers in this sort of price range.

BOSE VCS-10 might be a good speaker to look into

I'm quite sure that if you have something useful to add, that it won't be removed by any of the moderators.

I deleted your reply as it was a waste of server space. If you have nothing useful to add to any thread in the technical forums please confine yourself to General Chat.

At last a reply from Wharfedale and they no longer make a speaker to match!
But told me to go for a Gale as a good match but after doing a search I cant seem to find any good words said about them.
    Any ideas?

Will Wharfedale sell a single mfm 5? If you are running the system with a projector, or a plasm, and you can slot it in under your screen why not buy one singly. I've no idea what size these speakers are or whether they are still available.

My brother-in-law has done the same with a set of Pro Ac speakers, and his is a pretty fancy system by anybodies standards.

It'll be a tonal match. A lot of centre speakers use the same drive units as left and right speakers and just put them in a smaller box and stick it on its side (basically).

Don't know if anybody has any reasons why you couldn't place it on its side.

    Regards

    Chris
