This is probably an idiotic question.

I understand that I can use the supplied speakers which I will hang underneath as the centre speaker.

My question is do I have to run cable from the speakers to the av receiver, or do they remain connected to the TV, with some way of telling the TV via the menus that this has happened?

    Cheers

I've done this on my 434.

You decide what you want to do :

    1) Both speakers from AMP. Connect both to the centre o/p of your amp.
    2) Both speakers from Plasma. Connect each to L and R on the back of Screen
    3) One from AMP, one from Plasma. Connect one to your amp, the other to either L or R on the Screen.

Personally, I have both being driven from my AV AMP. Twist both ends together at the centre output on the AMP.
