I have a 7ft + wide opening into a conservatory which I think would be an ideal place to house a projector screen. It has double doors to it and I was thinking of fitting heavy curtains to block light from the doors and window area in the opening and fitting the screen to the top underside of the opening - Its the thickness of the outer wall about 10" thick.

My question is: will a centre speaker be ok placed above the PJ screen. i can't place it under the screen as this will obviously block entry to and from the conservatory.

So long as it's well accounted for in setup, I can't forsee too many problems.

It might be ideal to angle it toward your listening position, but this could prove difficult.
