Centre channel on Onkyo 609 problem

Hi guys, I need a little help.

I have been running my Onkyo 609 with 4 channels now since September, and no real problems, but was noticing I was missing out on proper surround sound.

My set-up is B&W 685 fronts and 686 rears. I have just bought a M1 centre for it (my AV rack is already tight for space, and this was as big as I could go). I also have a B&W sub.

Anyway, I cannot seem to get the centre to work. I have went into speaker settings, and run the test tone, but nothing comes out of the speaker.

Do I have to run Audessey again to recognise the speaker? Is there a simple setting I am missing here?

Any help much appreciated.

You need to go into the speaker configuration menus and enable centre channel speaker. Sounds like you have it set to phantom mode, where the left and right emulate the centre channel.

Run Audyssey again when you have enabled it

I had already enabled it, but still nothing coming through. Will run Audessey again tomorrow when I'm a bit more sober, lol.
