    hi,

im looking for a new center speaker and ive seen the JBL EC35 at AVland, are these any good? my fronts are dynaudio audience 52s and the surround are some older Tannoy 607s but they seem to work very well.
any others i should look at that you think would match the others better?

It'll be good but it probably won't match tonally with your Dynaudios :(

I would suggest a centre speaker from the same manufacturer so that it all stays balanced... But I couldn't find much with a quick Google search

I haven't heard that speaker, but it is going to be a lot more efficient than your dynaudio's for sure. That's not a problem just turn it down on your reciever.

I always think that you should get a really good center channel speaker, spend more on it than your reciever. Maybe i'm crazy :rotfl:

I'm not a big fan of cheaper three way speakers tell you the truth. I think that if you buy an inexpensive speaker that requires 4 drivers and a 3 way xover, you are going to have a lot of places where the manufacturer can cheap out. And they do this for the sake of making an impressive LOOKING speaker, not a good sounding one.

I would stick with a 2 way design with dual 5" or 6" woofers and a nice soft dome tweeter.

Can you get one that is worth the money for the price of that JBL? I don't know one. But I could shop for one for you. Funny thing is I always make center channel speakers and do it often.

Look at the dynaudio website, their center channels aren't 3 ways.

The dynaudio 122c is a nice choice at a very expensive $800
Anyway, I would look for a high quality two way speaker with dual woofers and a single tweeter. Or I could build you one!
