Can anyone please tell me which celestion speakers are a match for A2 floorstanders and A4C center?
Are you looking at matching aesthetically or tonally?
Tonally. I'm not sure Celestion ever made and bipoles/dipoles did they?
It appears to be generally accepted that rears do not need to match the fronts tonally as they mainly get effects information from the amp and virtually no dialog! However, it would make sense to get similar speakers if you can as there is nothing to be lost!
Have you had a look at these:- Google Image Result for http://i.cinenow.net/products-l/0/celestion-a-compact-technical-864.jpg
the A Compacts are/were just smaller versions of the A1s, same drivers but much smaller cabinet they are very rare, you do see A1 from £200-250 on Epay. Lovely speakers the A series. Nearly bought a pair before my Diapasons, need a bit of welly.
Witters I agree about the rears, you dont need to match them TBH.
I'm looking for wall mounted speakers really.
Big or small? Finish? Budget?
A nice used pair of Kef TDM34DS would do....
Cant help you there I am afraid. Good luck searching though
