    Has anyone tried this?
My room is too long for the throw distance of my soon to arrive Z2 and I have obstructions on the wall in any case.
I'm hoping to mount my screen inside the ceiling about 3 feet from the wall itself. Would this cause any problems that anyone is aware of?

    Thanks

if you are suggesting mounting the screen in a recess in the ceiling, i think there was a thread about someone who did exactly that some months ago which may well help you out

Oh, cool. Cheers - I'll have a look for that.
But my main concern is that the screen will not be directly against the wall, it will be in free space.....

alot i guess will depend upon the screen itself and how rigid the material is. I think (for example) the owl material is very heavy and would manage to hold its shape well in such a situation. All in all though, even when i had a screen thich was wall mounted, it hung freely. So i wouldnt let this concern you too much

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm planning to do (except that I don't have access above - I'm going to have to go through the ceiling :D

I've mounted my DRH screen about 3 foot away from the 'wall' as its a bay window. It seems fine but I dunno exactly how fine untill I get the bloomin PJ.

    Excellent, cheers.
Does the DRH screen seem ok? Because that's the one I was looking at getting.

Yeh I'm really pleased with it.

The motor's a bit noisy but hey its only while its being moved.

Its a shame it only comes in sludge colour tho.
