CD73 - worth buying at sub £300?

Basically, as it says in the title. I'm just on the bottom rung of the Arcam ladder, have seen these for less than £300 and am sorely tempted. I know they are going out of production, but are they still a great quality player (compared to more expensive models), and would one be a good match for my AVR280 amp?

Many thanks for any advice. :)

Thanks Kevin.

Not sure anyone will be able to answer this, but how would it compare to a Pioneer LX50, as far as CD sound goes? I just feel as though I would like a stand alone CD player, but I don't want to spend out, if I'm not going to notice all that much difference.

Lintone audio have new CD73's for £239.95

Thanks, but I want black, and they are £279. I still think it's a good deal, but I'm not certain it will sound any better than what I currently have. The temptation at the moment, is that it matches the amp, but I'm not that desparate to spend nearly £300 for the sake of aesthetics. :)
