As a newbie, whats the story with CD WOW? Most people here seem to love them. Are they are all pucker R2 discs or are they something else? I prefer R2, but am I missing out, are R1, 3, 5 whatever that much better?

    Thanks

I use CDwow for all my rg1 DVD's. But, they do rg2 also. And 3+4 etc... well, some I've seen in that rg. :)

They are most definitely a legit company. If you want R2 go to the R2 section and order. If you want multi region go to that section in the DVD zone. Basically all regions are covered. They are also nice enough to issue discount E-vouchers regularly. One of the best online suppliers out there.

    Happy shopping.

The reason why people like them so much is because they are a very good company!!!

They have a very good customer support service which goes along way with people as I'm sure you'll agree, they also stock various titles from different regions which I like as I'd rather order a foreign title from a company with a dedicated English version of their site (backed up with customer support) than taking a chance on importing from a foreign site (with no real English support) and also face getting charged import duties that I would have to pay (cd-wow will pay them for you if you get charged)

Those are my main reason's for likeing them, I'm sure other people will have different ones...

I'd say that if cd-wow have the titles you want, at a price your happy paying, then give them a go and see what you think yourself, and when using the £3 off method they're an even better choice.

    Regards,
    Iain.

The customer service they have, has not been bettered yet in my opinion, just a quick phonecall away, and give you all the answers you need :)

Something gets damaged in the post, phone them, and another is in the post the same day, then a post paid jiffy to send the first one back in. Super.

Another plus for CDWOW is they guarantee no customs duty on expensive box sets [I'm in the UK so anything over £18 is liable for duty] - so far I have had The Beatles ; Band of Brothers ; Indiana Jones from them with no problems ...
    Highly recommended ... Paul ;)

Cant recommend CD-Wow highly enough. They have always been very quick in despatching all of my orders with exception to T3 R3 but even then they backed it up with e-mails as to why it was late.:smashin:

I recently ordered a region one Band of Brothers box set from CD- Wow which went astray in the post.

They were very helpful when I reported the non-delivery to them, and I had a replacement delivered within a few days.

Add me to the list of people singing the praises of their customer service.

Personally i didnt find them that great, ordered 2 films got 1 today after nearly 3 weeks, the other has yet to arrive, i would rather pay a couple of quid extra and use amazon, they always arrive after 2 days.

I think the recent postal strikes have been the main cause for delays in receiving dvd's ordered via the internet over the last few weeks.

I've ordered four dvd's recently, and all of them have turned up much later than usual, or in one case not at all.

I think the reliability of all the internet dvd suppliers has suffered to some extent in recent weeks.

I think that is an unfair comparison as it was the PO at fault not CDwow their prices are excellent dlivery good (all discs come from Hong kong!! IIRC) and if any go missing they are great also offer replacement jewel cases for ones damaged in transit. I think recent offers and PO disruptions has put a huge strain on them!
They also regularly post money off vouchers with discs and have offers on the site and inconjunction with other companies

I've just used CD-Wow for the first time for T3 and Fifth Element Superbit. T3 was delayed and Fifth Element took ages to arrive (well a week) and that was in the middle of the post strike. But to they're credit they emailed to say T3 was going to be delayed, and when I enquired about Fifth Element delay - their customer services were great. I'll definately order from them again.

One other point I forgot to mention...

If there is a title you want that is not on their site, you can e-mail them about it and they will try and get it in for you.

    Iain.

    Hi

    They are great
I ordered the R3 Tin of Xmen 2 last Thursday Night and it turned up on my doorstep today (with a Hong Kong postal mark)
Packed really well - Obviously taking care as it was a tin subject to dents etc

Another time when my Die Hard boxset didn't turn up they did not hesitate to refund me

    Many thanks

    RON

Although I've order plenty of DVD's and CD's in the past of late its the norm to get e-mail listing items which are not in stock......?????

REM 88-03 - Out of stock - Delayed.
    Indiana Jones - Bx Set - O.O.S - Delayed.
Finding Nemo - took them a week to decide they didn't have stock. still not received it. (obviously they can't find him)
T3 Region 3 - Delayed due to no stock.................

Got to say I'm not totally slagging the company just giving my experiance over the last three weeks (Could have something to due with all the voucher fury we've seen recently:devil: )

Amongst the delays I did actually have some stuff delivered on time:clap: and will still use in the future, Christ I've still got an in-box full of vouchers to use:D :D

    Regards

    I love cd-wow

BUT, out of the last 7 items I have ordered from them, I think 5 got delayed because they had no stock, some were put back 4 times. This is an exception to the rule though, and hopefully its just because they`re getting more popular.

    Just my two pence :)

I've ordered from them many times, 1st class service. Just to highlight one aspect....I received a double CD from them once, with one CD missing (even though it was shrink-wrapped). I e-mailed them and they promptly replied they would be sending me a reply-paid envelope to return it. This duly arived in a couple of days, and a few days later along came the replacement.

Even though recently I've had about 6 items go missing due to the theiving scrotes at the PO, CDWOW have never hesitated in sending replacements immediately. Although it's almost getting embarrassing with the amount that are going missing. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have had this problem twice now, and both items were the highest value I`d ever ordered, cd-wow are so good, I feel ashamed to ask for a replacement after its gone missing.

But I was told that they have a contract with the P.O. , and they get compensation for lost parcels, thats what I was told anyway.

Are their R1 dvds usually the Canadian or the American versions?

I sent them an email asking about this the other day, but they didn't reply.

My copy of The Two Towers that I ordered from them turned
up damaged. I e-mailed them, pointing out the problem, and
within an hour they replied stating that a replacement was on
it's way (Sunday night too!). Excellent customer service and I
can't recommend them highly enough. :smashin:

Not sure about their DVD's, but some of their CD's are Canadian. Nothing to do with CD-WOW, but beware that this occasionally means different track listings, or lack of bonus discs, to UK versions.

I have used them 4 times in the last 3 weeks. Every order has reached the darkest depths of Scotland within 3 days.
    Well done

I've had 3 of my last 7 orders with CDWOW delayed for items listed on their website...but to be fair it was in the run up and they all arrived just in time (24th December!) which was pretty good service considering 2 of these were posted on 23rd December from Singapore!

Again, can't sing their praises enough.

Ordered 20/30 CD's and DVD's in the month upto xmas, all arrived within 5 days, with the exception of 1, e-mailed them and had a replacement within 3 days.

    Excellent
