New site design - looks great!

Now they sell video games as well  and they've split their DVDs into R2 and "rest of the world"

Looks like they're going head-to-head with Play.com ;) :D

Their prices and delivery times are generally much better than Play so they could win.

It's just a shame for CD-WOW that when I click add to cart (on my netscape browser) that nothing happens, oh well theres a lost sale....

Jeez, if you can't place an order using Netscape, they could stand to lose 3 or 4 orders a year! They better get that fixed.

:D

Yes, I have cookies enabled.

The plot thickens...

It seems that I can click the add to cart buttons and they work except when I am on the pages that has the DVD I was looking at!

My DVD choice

Just bad web site design I guess!:)

...and if you use www.cd-wow.com/192 you magically get another 25p off :)

Not sure about the new design. It may grow on me.

My only gripe with them was shipping me a R4 Monsters Inc when it was advertised as R2. It seems to play on a R2 player, so I'm not going to send it back.

I've had plenty of CDs from them.

Magnatom,

CD-WOW use Java on their site, so it may be because you have an older version of the Java VM on your machine. Try downloading and installing the new JRE from java.sun.com. Might also be your firewall.

You should shed Netscape anyway if you're using a Windows box because it's a poor, poor browser compared to IE. And before you shout about poor web design on CD-WOW's part, just bear in mind that Netscape has only recently made its browsers more W3-standards compliant, which naturally doesn't help web designers any. Which version of Netscape are you using anyway? I had no end of problems with Java applets in Netscape 6 onwards so it was then that Netscape and I parted company.

Not accessing the web via a proxy server are you? I find that the times when I switch to one, if Blueyonder is on a go slow, I can never get into any secure sites.

A bit more professional looking, although not sure the black works well at the top corners. They need to fix some screen width issues though...

SQ,

I'm not using windows and I try and avoid it like the plague . I use unix and linux at work(at home I have windows but thats on very old PC!)

Anyway I don't want to start a windows via PC thing as this would be way off topic!

It is onl a couple of pages that the button doesn't work so I am sure its just a couple of missing links!
Probably just as well as I really don't have the money to afford the DVD (just about to buy a house  :( :D )

Anyway I better get back to work....

magnatom,

Have you tried telling them about your problem? I had a similar issue whereby everytime I pressed the 'checkout' button the site crashed! They sent me an alternative link to purchase from which worked fine.
You can also download an order form and order by post. ;)

CD Wow had a policy of sending you the next nearest version if they didn't have the one on the site available, ie a R4 disc for a R2 one as it's PAL. Is that still the case?

I have several R2 discs which are actually R2/R4 and even a couple (The Sopranos Series 2 R4 for one) that is all regions (1-6, not R0).
