Hi. I got a new cd player, and the jack where you plug in headphones is giving me problems. When I plug it in I have to mess around with it untill it plays the music. Sometimes it goes mute because the wire isn't perfectly in the right position. Is there a way to fix this? Also its not the headphones.

If it's a new player,I'd take it back to the shop....sounds very much like either a dry joint on one of the wires to the socket,or a badly made socket.
