First time on this audio forum
I was looking for a cheap CD player which also plays MP3 discs to connect to an amplifier (actually a PA system) as a separate.

I was looking to spend under 100 quid and usual CD players will not do as they do not usually have audio out. Help Please as i cannot find any such unit.

    Thx cosmicma.
Most DVD players play MP3 via the TV screen. I do not intend connecting a TV screen to this setup.

Richer Sounds do a Fusion CD780 here for £70. I had a Fusion CD750 before I returned it, and if they're anything alike, it'll have the loudest hum from the power supply you've ever heard, and the brightest blue LED in the world, but it's cheap and makes a decent sound.:smashin:

quite a few have a display as well so no need for a tv screen :)

another advantage is you could put 4.5 gig of mp3's onto a dvd ( imagine trying to sift through that lot :( )

it's just another avenue to look down :)

THanks broona for the recommendation. Will call up richer sounds tomorrow.

Cosmicma, any specific suggestions for brands/model nos that have built in displays. The DVD MP3 sounds very attractive too

when i said display i mean track / time display ( not tv display if thats what you thought i meant )
asda do a dual dvd 859 around the 40/50 quid mark if you look around there's quite a few
the only issue in my mind is keeping track of the songs you would have to put them on the root and not into folders and keep a note of which song is track 1 2 3 etc... that way it would be fairly easy to know whats being played
considering you will average 500 tracks per dvd it's gonna need quite a list
