I want to install a CCTV system but need a few tips as to what I should be buying. It's in a domestic situation, I only need the one camera but it must be good in the dark possibly up to 30 metres. I've read that quality of night images depend partly on size of the camera lens and an automatic lens filter? Is it possible to get an image on to my iPad wirelessly? Any help and advice welcome.

I have a cctv system with a separate recorder/hard drive but the recording unit has failed and is out of warranty (a CNM brand that i would not recommend). Does anyone know of a way to turn my still functioning cameras into a wireless recording system? Thanks.

You should probably start a new thread but in any case what is wrong with the recording unit? Usually it's a hard drive which can go bad. If that the case just purchase a new hard drive and put inside the thing. They are usually just standard PC 3.5" SATA hard drives.
